Back in the States

Well, after several weeks of blog neglect, I've returned. Not only have I returned to this blog, I've also returned to the states. My time in Guatemala was enjoyable, if not a little rushed. There was, however, something strange floating through the air. Within my third day, I developed a cold that did not clear until my return to the states. Some of you might be thinking that I got what so many consider the "travelers cold". It's not a bad assumption, although, in this case, inaccurate. I am unsure of all the contributing factors (fatigue, disgusting living situation for the first week and a half, airborne particles) but whatever it was, I was sick. This is the dry season for Guatemala, and they are burning their sugar cane. So, it's possible my body was fighting some allergen. Whatever the reason, I fought a cold that has lingered with me even to this day (flem)... But, I did no allow that to hamper my travels, nor did it hinder my time of volunteering.

The children were fun, and were quite pleased to have seen me.

For the next month, I'll be in New Orleans. Attempting to complete my writing...
