Things I've been up to...

Getting my parents farm in order (in many ways, I consider this more arduous then voluntary work)

Providing support to several Bills my dad's attempting to get passed. (The Dixon Acequia, which is the sole way many people water their crops in the summer, is in dire need of renovations. My father, along with several other ditch supervisors, are working hard to receive state funding to rebuild the main vein of the community.). So far, the state has committed a total of $150,000.

I'm off to LA tomorrow. I'll spend a week visiting family and friends. Along with participating in Babovision meetings. My dad, sister, and I will pitch the Babovision card came to several companies while we are in California.

Investing a lot of time researching commercial kitchens, bottles, labels, and distributors of raw foods. I'm not sure how many of you were aware, but my family was (emphasis on "was") in the business of selling processed foods (dips). This has since gone by the wayside. Though, in an attempt to figure out ways of supplying them with a fluid cash flow, I've been researching the feasibility of ramping up the business once again.

.... off the beaten path

Alright, so recently my attention to this blog has been abysmal. After learning about the administrations Domestic Surveillance program, I became scared. I was concerned that my communications were being illegally monitored. It wasn’t until today, with the Judiciary committees willingness to call hearings, that I’m at least a little less paranoid… Seriously, I do apologize about my utter lack of updates.

In my last update I promised that I’d –soon- post pictures displaying what it was I would be doing next. Obviously, the soon was an over exaggeration, but the statement about the “next post” was at least accurate.

Everyone, meet the Adventurewagen (yes, that is how it is spelled).





This beast of the road will be my new home. For how long? Well, that’s still to be determined. At present time, the thought is two months. My brother, a friend, and I will soon embark upon the road less traveled. Visiting the inner workings of America. The trip, thus far, will lead us through Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, possibly South Carolina, possibly North Carolina and possibly Virginia, and then return via Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas, and Kansas. Why am I enduring such a drive? Well, I haven’t experienced the extreme endurance just yet, so answering would be jumping the gun.

I do realize that this strays a little from “Third World Travel” ;I won’t have to exchange money; The threat of disease will be less; Language barriers will be lifted (sort of); And, most people I talk to will know where “Massachusetts” is on the map. Though, what I’ve also started to realize is “I don’t know much about this country”. There is the obvious information that we see on television and from what we learn from others. But, until one visits a habitat, all you are really receiving are the seemingly unbiased views of others. Ever since the last election, I’ve developed a deeper desire to understand the thoughts not only of other cultures, but also the people of this country. And, though the next voyage may not sound as exotic as say “Nepal” I think I will learn just as much.
