In The Words of Shakespeare

(I'm obviously paraphrasing here) "To write or not to write, that is the question". That I have received more grief then praise; that this blog has been neglected; that there are things to write that I have not written; and that many of you probably feel the same neglect that has been offered this blog, that is why I will now write. But, to write about "What?", I guess that is the general decision that I must decide.

A span of about 6 months have wondered by since a proper post (perhaps even more). Many things have gone on. And I? I haven't written about any of them...

I think, the first thing to do, is to post... post... and post more- No, not postings of writings, but photos. So, today, I shall just upload photos. All of these are taken from Guatemala (My last visit to the country was 4 months ago).

My niece has taken to occasionally calling me Gigantor... In this photo, I guess I would have to agree.

Really Need to Post More....

... and I will... I promise. Though, I wanted to send a quick response to the one just commented on the blog. Thanks(!) for the post about my writing. It's appreciated.

.

Tomorrows my birthday. If you'd asked me 6 months ago what I'd have been doing, I'd have answered "perhaps, with a group of friends, having a big bash". If you ask me now, I'd say "not really sure, however, I'll be in NM". Not really a bad place to be. And, I'm here, partially, by my own choice. Friends of mine are getting married on the 12th (this coming weekend). I was planning on going a few days early; and also celebrate my b'day. This has changed a little, as I now have a follow-up meeting with the Museum Shops of New Mexico, regarding the card business. So, instead of being away, I'll be spending the day with family; will be nice.

Post Flight Recap

I just sent this message to a friend... but, thought I'd also post it in the blog.

After 3.5 hours of in the air time, 11 hours hanging around airports, 6 separate flight amendments, the meeting of three new friends, a dark and deserted hour and a half drive to Aspen and, navigating it all with about 3 hours of sleep (including the naps I took on the plane.)... I'm finally here-- What a crazy day. Our landing found us kissing the tops of mountains, covered in a snow that resembled powdered sugar (quite gorgeous). Aspen received a foot and a half of new snow today. So, I can't wait to get on the slopes tomorrow morning! The rest of our group (they all arrived yesterday) are out partying. However, the only thing I can think of right now is bed...

The Beauty of Standby

Currently, I'm supposed to be boarding a flight, to Dallas. A fat idiot is yelling -loudly- over the phone. I initially thought he was complaining to American, concerning a flight delay. However, as I listen more carefully, you can hear a whiny-ness expressed by those normally of 2... "Mah-um...". While looking up to search for an appropriate word to describe my discontent (yet based knowledge that this has happened before, and, is expected) I become rattled. Walking past me in a confident stride is Karl Rove!... well, at least a like facsimile there of (this man possesses a little more hair).

I'm on my way to Colorado. The plan was to take a 6:00am flight, connect through Dallas, then fly to Eagle-Vail. The 6:00am flight was oversold. So, I opted to take a 7:05 flight. It had plenty of seats, and still allowed for plenty of time to catch my next flight. Arriving at the airport, I went to a self check-in kiosk and swiped my credit card. A screen appeared asking me to confirm my identity, I clicked continue. The next screen prompted. It wanted to know where I was going. Entering the airport abbreviation "EGE", I pressed continue and waited a few seconds before my itinerary was displayed. Albuquerque - Dallas, Dallas - Eagle-Vail. So far, all was in order...that was, until I noticed the time of the Albuquerque flight. 7:05am, now rescheduled for 10:45. Delays normally aren't bad, but since I was making a connection, to an airport that doesn't receive much foot traffic during this part of the season, it has actually generated some hassle. Apparently, the delay is due to bad weather in Chicago; we are awaiting crew.

I need to go figure out alternative flights. If anything is available, I'll try getting a seat. Otherwise (which actually isn't all that bad) I'll just have to forgo the trip.
